PASTOR BRENT SNOOK
SENIOR PASTOR

JOY SNOOK

Joy Snook was a woman who loved God with all her heart and demonstrated that through her faithful years in ministry.
She knew what God had called her and Brent to do and she stayed focused on pressing on for the glory of God.

When the church was small, Joy poured her heart into many ministries in the church.  As more people came, Joy really focused on the ladies of First Baptist.
She saw the importance of growing in her relationship with her Savior and wanted to help others grow in their walk with Him.
She loved the ladies so faithfully and sacrificially, and they loved her in return.

Joy knew that her most important ministry was to her husband and their three daughters.
She was faithful in honoring her calling to be her husband’s helper and raising their girls to love and serve God.

I Thessalonians 5:24 says, “Faithful is He who calls you, He also will do it.” Joy had the amazing opportunity of seeing God’s hand in their ministry at First Baptist.
Pastor and Joy stayed faithful to God in the good days and hard days. They saw God bless and grow His church.

The final stretch, for Joy, was closer than any of us realized but thank God she finished well.
Joy was a godly example in living a life fully devoted to the Lord.
Well done, good and faithful servant.”

MISSION STATEMENT: TO KNOW CHRIST AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN

"THAT I MAY KNOW HIM, AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION, AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS, BEING MADE CONFORMABLE UNTO HIS DEATH."
PHILIPPIANS 3:10

As God's family of friends here at First Baptist Church of Glen Este our desire is "To Know Christ and To Make Him Known."

Some of the last words that Jesus said on earth before ascending into heaven are recorded in Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

KNOWING CHRIST AND MAKING HIM KNOWN INVOLVES FIVE KEY AREAS:
  • Celebrating (Worship)
  • Communicating (Evangelism)
  • Incorporating (Membership)
  • Educating (Discipleship)
  • Assimilating (Ministry)
HISTORY

"I WILL REMEMBER THE WORKS OF THE LORD: SURELY I WILL REMEMBER THY WONDERS OF OLD.  I WILL MEDITATE ALSO OF ALL THY WORK, AND TALK OF THY DOINGS."
PSALM 77:11-12

GOD'S FAMILY OF FRIENDS

In April of 1953, First Baptist Church of Glen Este was organized and started with 43 in attendance to serve Greater Cincinnati.  For years First Baptist Church would remain faithful to the Lord; however, after experiencing several pastors and a difficult season, First Baptist Church was close to shutting its doors.  Several families remained and would not give up on what the Lord wanted to do at First Baptist Church.  It was then in 1987 that the Lord led Brent and Joy Snook to First Baptist Church.

With renewed vision and a renewed commitment to evangelism and discipleship, First Baptist Church began to grow under the leadership of Pastor Snook.  Within the next five years after his arrival, Allen Haughton was added to the pastoral staff to do youth and music, and First Baptist Church purchased over eleven acres of land.  The church went to two services to accommodate the growth, and they began the relocation process.  In October of 1995, First Baptist Church had a ground breaking ceremony and they would move in to their new facility in 1996.  First Baptist Church expanded in 1998 with a Family Life Center and more classrooms.  It was then in 1998 that Bob Johnson joined the pastoral staff to be the youth pastor, and Pastor Allen moved to do music and drama.  Just a year later Jeff Moss became the pastor of administration, and in 2001, Linda Sheets joined the church staff to serve as the Children's Ministry Director.

For the next several years, First Baptist Church experienced a strong and steady growth that led them to begin two services and two Sunday schools.  They also purchased more land in order to expand the parking lot.  In 2005, First Baptist Church began building an educational building and moved in just a year later.  In 2006, Tim Block was added to the pastoral staff to minister to the college and career.

First Baptist Church has continued to experience God's blessings.  Three more acres of land was purchased to accommodate the next building project.  In 2011, James Neal was added to the pastoral staff to minister to the college and career and Tim Block began his ministry of evangelism and discipleship with the adult ministries.

In March 2015,  First Baptist Church opened a new 1400 seat Worship Center. God continues to bless First Baptist Church as we serve in the Greater Cincinnati area.

BELIEFS

"ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS."
2 TIMOTHY 3:16

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and holds the answers to all of man’s needs. Jesus Christ offers to all eternal life and the power to live victoriously over sin. We are committed at First Baptist to sharing this truth. I believe you will find our program here well rounded and ready to meet the needs of everyone in your family from nursery age to senior citizen.

Here at First Baptist Church of Glen Este, we believe in the following:

All Scripture is verbally inspired as originally written and therefore is infallible and inerrant.  2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:21; Matthew 5:18; 1 Corinthians 2:13

There is one living and true God who exists in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14.  The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God.  John 14:20; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1, 14; Hebrews 1:8-10; Acts 5:3-4

The Lord Jesus was born of a virgin.  Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38

Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead and ascended unto God the Father.  Matthew 28; Mark 16; 1 Corinthians 15; Romans 1:4

Christ will return - First, the dead in Christ will be resurrected bodily and those who are alive at His coming will meet Him in the air.  This resurrection not only precedes His return to earth to reign 1000 years on earth, but it also precedes the tribulation.  1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 5:4; Revelation 20:1-6; 2 Timothy 2:12

All humankind inherit a depraved nature and are lost sinners in need of salvation.  Romans 3:9-23; Ephesians 2:1-3

God has provided salvation through offering His Son on the cross of Calvary and allowing His blood to be shed to atone for our sins.  Romans 3:25; Hebrews 9:22

We are saved and justified when we recognize ourselves as sinners, and we put our trust in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and His finished work on the cross of Calvary.  Salvation is by grace through faith plus nothing.  Romans 3:24; 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9

Once saved, we cannot be lost; we are eternally secure in Christ.  John 3:16; Philippians 1:6; John 10:27-29; Romans 8:38, 39

We should regularly and consistently remember the Lord's death for us in the Lord's Supper.  1 Corinthians 11:23-32.

All believers should be baptized by immersion.  Acts 2:41; 19:5-6; Matthew 28:19-20

The Bible teaches the eternal blessedness of the saved; and it also teaches the eternal punishment of the lost.  John 4:14; John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15

The grace of God teaches us to live soberly, righteously, and godly.  We are to look for the blessed hope of His return for us; set our affection on things above, not on things on the earth; and live a life of separation from the world.  Titus 2:13; Colossians 3:2; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
