MISSION STATEMENT:
TO KNOW CHRIST AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN
"THAT I MAY KNOW HIM, AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION, AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS, BEING MADE CONFORMABLE UNTO HIS DEATH." PHILIPPIANS 3:10
As God's family of friends here at First Baptist Church of Glen Este our desire is "To Know Christ and To Make Him Known."
Some of the last words that Jesus said on earth before ascending into heaven are recorded in Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
KNOWING CHRIST AND MAKING HIM KNOWN INVOLVES FIVE KEY AREAS:
- Celebrating (Worship)
- Communicating (Evangelism)
- Incorporating (Membership)
- Educating (Discipleship)
- Assimilating (Ministry)
Church Membership: How do I join?
For you to become a member, you must be saved and scripturally baptized. Church membership can happen in one of three ways:
1. Baptism: for one who has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior and desires to obey Christ by being baptized by immersion
2. Transfer of Letter: for one who is saved, has been baptized by immersion after being saved, and is a member in good standing of another church
3. Statement of Faith: for one who has been saved and baptized by immersion after being saved but it not a member of another church
Baptism: How do I sign up?
Baptism is a public confession that you have repented of your sins and, by faith trusted in Jesus as your Savior and Lord. Baptism is not a part of salvation but rather an outward display of an inward decision. It's like wearing a wedding ring. The ring lets everyone know you belong to someone in marriage. Similarly, baptism lets everyone know you belong to Jesus. It's an act of obedience as personal identification with Christ and a public proclamation of your faith.
If you want to be baptized, come forward during the invitation to share your salvation testimony with a personal worker, or make an appointment by calling our church office at 513-7520936.
