GROUP LEADERS
The Group Leader is an extension of the Pastor into the lives of the individual members of the Adult Bible Fellowship class. Group Leaders are the key people providing personal ministry to the members of the congregation.
Classes cannot care for each other and reach new people without Group Leaders. Jesus gave a touching parable in Luke 15 about a shepherd who had 100 sheep. There was a problem, however, because one of his sheep was missing. The caring shepherd left his comfortable home that night to find the lost sheep. He put it on his shoulders & brought it back to the fold of safety.
The Group Leader of the Adult Bible Fellowship class is the one who strives to accomplish two things: protect the sheep from wandering & find the sheep when they do wander.
The Group Leader is entrusted with a “flock” of 4-6 couples or 8-12 people. Their responsibility is to know those sheep, care for those sheep, protect those sheep, and lead those sheep. This can be accomplished by staying in close contact with those people. Therefore, this ministry requires that the Group Leader pray for their group, regularly contact their people, inform them of special activities & events, and encourage them to attend services faithfully.
The Group Leader is to inform the Class Teacher or Class Manager of special needs in the lives of their people. This Group Leader ministry is vital to assure a growing church can keep a personal touch in the lives of every person.
